Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5: Same Pictures, Same Prompts, Very Different Cost

By The Local Lab · Published · 4 min read · Kling 4.0 · Seedance 2.5 · Comparison

This post is based on a sponsored video made with Higgsfield's creator program. The tests, results and opinions are my own.

I ran Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 side by side on Higgsfield, where both sit in the same model list, with the same pictures, prompts and settings. The short version: dialogue was basically a tie. Seedance kept the bears more solid but didn't start on my start picture, and Kling held the 30-second drone shot together where Seedance switched drones. The big gap was cost. At the launch price shown on the Generate button on Oct 25, 2026, Kling's 30-second clip cost 30 credits and Seedance's cost 480.

Which is better for a doorbell camera clip?

Both got the same start frame and prompt (8 s, 16:9, 1080p):

Night-vision doorbell camera footage, fixed camera, no camera movement. The two bear cubs climb onto the trampoline and start bouncing clumsily while the mother bear stands at the edge watching. The net sways, grainy infrared noise, the timestamp stays in the corner. Quiet night ambience, springs creaking.

Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5 side by side: night-vision doorbell camera

Kling 4.0 started right on the picture and could pass for real doorbell footage for the first second, but one cub passed straight through the net instead of using the zipper opening. Seedance 2.5 kept all three bears solid, but it didn't start on the exact start picture. If the first frame has to match your picture, Kling wins this one. If solid bodies matter more, Seedance does.

Which handles dialogue and lip sync better?

Same three reference pictures (reporter, woman with a coffee and a golden-hour street) and the same prompt:

Handheld street-interview shot on the busy golden-hour sidewalk from image 3. The reporter from image 1 holds his microphone out to the woman from image 2 and asks, "What's the best advice you've ever been given?" She smiles, takes a sip of her coffee and says, "Never trust anyone who doesn't tip the barista." Natural lip sync, street noise, people walking past.

Basically a tie: every word was right on both.

Which can hold a 30-second shot together?

Same start frame, 30 seconds, 21:9, 1080p:

One continuous FPV drone shot with no cuts. The drone tips over the cliff edge and dives down beside the waterfall, punches through the falling water, levels out low over the turquoise canyon river and races along it at high speed, banking through the bends, then rises over a riverside festival at dusk with lanterns and crowds just as fireworks burst overhead. Rushing wind, roaring water, then music and fireworks.

Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5 side by side: 30-second drone shot

Kling 4.0 stayed one continuous shot and hit every beat, with its own propellers in frame the whole way. Seedance 2.5 switched to following a second drone halfway through.

Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5: which costs less?

At the launch price shown on the Generate button on Oct 25, 2026, Kling 4.0's 30-second clip cost 30 credits and Seedance 2.5's cost 480 credits. That launch-price gap is where the "16x cheaper" in my video title comes from. For shorter clips, an 8-second Kling clip showed 8 credits, with the old price of 32 crossed out. Launch prices don't last forever, so compare on the Generate button on the day you run it.

Verdict: which should you use?

For planned shots and long one-takes, Kling 4.0 did better in my tests, and at launch price it cost far less. Seedance 2.5 kept bodies more solid in the doorbell test, so it's worth a try when that matters more than matching your first frame. The full Kling breakdown, with all seven tests, is in my Kling 4.0 tutorial, and every model I've tested is on the AI video models hub. You can run both models from the Kling 4.0 page on Higgsfield.
